Y+A Offices

Pafos, Pafos, Cyprus

Completed: 2024

The building stands out for its contemporary and dynamic architectural design, which combines minimalist lines, bold geometric forms, and a variety of materials. The façade alternates between white surfaces and warmer tones, while large glass openings provide abundant natural light to the interior spaces and enhance the overall sense of transparency. The ground floor is developed with extensive transparent surfaces, hosting shops with impressive storefronts in a prime location of intense commercial activity. On the upper floors, modern office spaces are arranged, balancing functionality with aesthetics. The balconies with glass railings offer open views, while the curved corner façade adds character and movement to the composition. At the same time, the vertical louvers on the corner façade serve both as sun-shading devices and as morphological elements that reinforce the rhythm and plasticity of the elevation.

In terms of massing, the building is articulated into two main elements: the white core with its curved façades and the vertical ochre tower, which functions as a structural and visual axis. The interplay of these two contrasting volumes creates strong dynamism, while the elongated openings and projecting balconies highlight the horizontality of the composition. The curvature of the façades softens the geometric rigidity, adding a sense of fluidity and movement. At the urban scale, the building establishes itself as a point of reference along the street, thanks to its dynamic corner presence and the vivid alternation of volumes and colors. It represents a composition that balances functionality—with retail and office spaces—and architectural value, serving as a characteristic example of contemporary design.
