This addition to AB house was designed to create an independent flexible gallery and, at the same time, provide a swimming pool to the owners of the main residence. The concept allows the house to maintain its views to the south, by placing all accommodation below ground. The pool bottom is suspended in the gallery roof, emphasised by the window into the gallery.

The gallery roof rises gently to the south to accommodate the high windows, and is planted with grass, to seamlessly blend with the lawn and garden around the pool. When viewed from below, the dark, mirrored windows emphasise the sloping cantilever roof, to make it stand out. Strategically placed linear lights emphasise the effect at night. The cantilever of the roof creates an awning above the windows and moderate the light that enters the space, to create natural light suitable for exhibitions. The interior is stark and austere. Smooth white concrete walls and ceilings contrast the rough appearance of the concrete tubes of AB House. The concrete terrazzo floor appears natural and flawless at the same time, adding to this effect.
